Welcome
Weipa Community Kindergarten is a small, community-owned, not-for-profit kindergarten located on beautiful Alngith land on the west coast of Cape York Peninsula, overlooking the Gulf of Carpentaria.
At our Kindy, we offer a play-based program that honours the unique strengths, knowledge and experiences of every child and family — creating a place where children feel safe, supported and valued as they begin their learning journey.
As a Community Kindergarten, we are proudly not‑for‑profit and run by a dedicated Volunteer Parent Committee. All funds raised stay within our Kindy, directly benefiting our children, families, and learning environment.

Indoors, spaces are thoughtfully designed to reflect children’s interests, inviting them to paint, build, create and collaborate. Outdoors, children explore a vibrant environment complete with bike tracks, climbing equipment, a boat, swings and a thriving garden.
With views across Albatross Bay and natural shade from surrounding trees, outdoor play becomes a rich and meaningful part of each day.

Children are encouraged to express themselves, share ideas and build friendships through play. Educators provide gentle guidance and encouragement, creating a space where children feel confident to explore and grow.
